Please read before posting or critiquing art!
Here at MangaMatsuri, we strive to create a kind and respectful atmosphere. To make that possible, please make sure you read and follow the rules below while posting and critiquing art.
When receiving critiques:
• If you would like critiques, please add “(C&C)” to the end of your thread name. If you would not like critiques, please add “(No C&C)” to the end of your thread name.
• Please treat your critic with respect. We know you might not like what they have to say. They’re pointing out the flaws in your work, after all. But that doesn’t mean you should treat them meanly, rudely, or immaturely. Don’t forget they’re taking time out of their day to help you improve.
• If a critic is being rude, mean, or breaking any rules, please report them. There’s no need to confront or start an argument. Simply report and ignore them. We will handle it from there.
When giving critiques:
• Do not critique art on threads that specifically say “(No C&C).”
• Be polite. We will not tolerate rude, mean, or insulting critiques. Don’t forget you’re trying to help and encourage the artist/writer, not belittle them or their work.
• If the artist you are critiquing responds to your critique unnecessarily rudely, meanly, or is breaking any rules, please report them. There’s no need to confront or start an argument. Simply report and ignore them. We will handle it from there.
• If you are going to point out flaws in the artist’s work, please:
1) Provide basis for your critique. Explain what is wrong and why it’s wrong.
2) Provide a solution.
3) If you cannot provide a solution, do your best to make sure the artist understands what you’re saying so they can seek a solution on their own.
Breaking any of the above rules can result in warnings and point infractions.
If you have any questions about these rules, please let us know!
